ARNOTT'S historic Morpeth bakehouse will receive a $50,000 interest-free loan under a $4.8 million State Government heritage program.

Member for Maitland John Price said $50,000 had also been granted to Maitland's Walka Water Works trust to help repair a boiler house and a $15,000 interest-free loan would go to Donald Maxwell for conservation work on Lochinvar Homestead's original 1834 cottage and outbuildings.

The Government loan for the bakehouse would be part of a $107,000 upgrade of the building which Arnott's operated from 1850 to 1875.
